To enroll in the Child and Youth Care Worker (CYC) Diploma Program, you must meet the following requirements:

• 18 years of age or older on or before the program commences.
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or a foreign equivalent high school diploma evaluated in Canada.
• Alternatively, you can qualify through the Wonderlic SLE.

Please note: No study permit is required for this program.

What is a Child and Youth Care (CYC) Worker?

A child and youth care (CYC) worker is a professional trained to support children and youth facing social, emotional, behavioural, and mental health challenges. CYC Workers develop and implement strategies that help young people and their families thrive.

Can I work while studying?

Yes! The online delivery method of the program allows for flexible study hours, making it possible to balance your studies with part-time or full-time work.

Do I need a study permit to apply for this program?

No, a study permit is not required for the CYC diploma program. From June 27, 2023, to June 27, 2026, a new temporary policy lets certain foreign nationals working in Canada study without needing a study permit.

Is this program recognized by the Ontario government?

Yes, this program is approved as a vocational program under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
